Because you’ve found your way here, I’ll assume that you are looking for answers on how to manage the stress, unhappiness, or anxiety that you are dealing with at work. That said, I’m going to be as straight forward as I can be with the insight and experience I’ve gained over the years on exactly how to deal with this before you get to the point that your entire existence is controlled by the feelings you’re having.
I understand your struggle. I experienced the same thing for too long myself. My goal is to help you learn, quicker than I was able to, how to make the changes necessary to be happy in any job. Learning how to change your attitude is one of the quickest ways to make a huge change in your life.
Being stressed at work can lead to some very negative health and emotional issues. Have you been arguing back and forth with yourself on whether it’s your co-workers or the management that is causing this trauma? Or maybe you think your line of work isn’t fulfilling enough, doesn’t pay enough, or you just don’t know why you are so miserable? Has the thought crossed your mind that maybe it’s something that YOU are doing wrong that is creating this drama in your life? The most important step you can take in reducing your stress level at work is to honestly reflect on what is causing this to begin with. Once you can answer the question of where these feelings are stemming from, you will be more effective at moving forward towards resolving your unhappiness in your work environment (and in your life).
Reflect on your daily temperament at work
Taking responsibility for the part you play in your level of unhappiness at work is a difficult process to engage in. Blaming others for our problems is a natural reaction, but it;s a reaction that results in a downward spiral in our ability to deal with everyday life.
Are you showing up for work with the mindset that you don’t like your job and you’d rather be doing anything else but this? While it may be true that you don’t like your job, starting your day with this attitude will affect every choice you make at work and it is not going to be beneficial to anyone. How can you do your job well (which directly affects the satisfaction you take in your work) if you have already decided that you don’t even want to be there?
Recognizing that YOU may be the major factor that is holding you back is a HUGE step in correcting your attitude about your job.
